:: the best gift ive received (so far) is a vintage locket style bracelet that my life partner had engraved for me.

It says “Twin” as that is the nickname she gave me when we first started dating. We have the same first name but she goes by her middle name instead……I was confused for weeks in the beginning until she finally told me why she called me that! She refuses to call me by my first name as its too weird for her 😂::

The best gift I ever received was a surprise from my parents, a Mac book for Christmas one year before going off to college. It meant so much to me!

Best gift I’ve ever received was when my Dad got me my first acoustic guitar!! I was 13 years old, and very surprised at the time as he had gotten me a very expensive one that i’ve had my eyes on too (Taylor).

the best gift I have probably received was a necklace my grandma gave me. it's a gold crown with my name in tiny letters engraved and the number 15 because I got it when I was 15 years old. what's so special about it is that on the crown there are 3 birthstones: my grandpa (who died when I was 3), mine in the middle, and my grandma's on the right. I wear it basically every day and it's my most prized possession

The best gift I ever got was from my dad the same year he passed. He had decided randomly to start baking and was really into making pies. He made me a blueberry pie (my favorite) and spent so much money buying fresh blueberries that were out of season at the time just so it could be the best pie he could make. It was delicious and now every time I have a slice of blueberry pie somewhere, I think about him.

Growing up my family didn't have much to go around and birthday / Christmas presents were almost always a some sort of a necessity and never really sentimental or fun. I was also a very closed off child who had a very difficult time making friends. I made my very first friend when I was 11 years old (6th grade) while we were both trying to hide from being auditioned ( yeah they didn't give us the choice lol) for a musical at school. She was also like me, shy and insecure .. in a new school far from our small towns and in an ecosystem that felt way out of our league. We built a very slow and very steady friendship. For my 11th birthday, she gave me a box filled with some fun girly things ( hair ties, cute pens, a cute notebook etc) and the space in the box was filled with little rolled up notes.. handwritten notes with snippets of conversations we had.. of how much she valued out friendship.. of the things she loved about me. I was so blown away I didn't even know how to react and to this day 20 years later we are still the best of friends and no other gifts anyone has ever given ( she included) has touched me like that box filled with notes and cheap girly things. Fills my heart every time I think about it <3

On my 30th birthday, my husband gave me a locket necklace with photos of our babies inside. I’ve always suffered from anxiety and panic attacks but ever since I got the locket, holding on to it every time I was feeling on the edge and thinking that my husband who gave it and our kids are always with me has made me felt so much better. I held on to it during flights, dental surgeries, and even a roller coaster ride which I thought I would never ever do but I did. It’s the best gift ever!

The best gift I received was a box of beautiful handmade Christmas ornaments from my aunt. We used it for a good 10+ years and were so sad when we had to throw them out because they were falling apart.

One of the best gifts I have ever received is a book by Kazuo Ishiguro – The Buried Giant. That book holds so much in it, hiding under the fictional story! And it reintroduced me into my love of reading 🙂

When I was in high school my grandfather surprised me with a 1983 Honda Civic on Thanksgiving Day!!! I was so surprised that when I looked at it even though it had a big red bow on it in the driveway I said cute car whose is it? I took a moment then realized the car was for me and burst into tears and and ran and hugged my my grandfather AKA grandy. To this day I treasure that sweet wonderful ❤️

The best gift I ever received was from my mom. She didn't work and my dad barely gave her enough to purchase food/necessities, but she somehow managaed to save $100 and got me a play computer. It was battery-operated and wow did I love that thing.

My best gift ever received is a donation to the Tennessee Elephant Sanctuary in my name and a trip to visit/volunteer for them. This person knew how much I love elephants and that I've been wanting to do that for years but put everyone else before myself.

the greatest gift i ever received was from my mom and dad. they paid for me and my husband's wedding last year and it could not have been more special. it was something they had been saving up for since i was a baby, knowing that one day their little girl would get married, and being the traditional folks they were, they wanted to gift us our wedding. i know that's not necessarily as common today, but i will be forever grateful to them for gifting us the most beautiful day we've ever had.

I was deployed in Puerto Rico helping survivors of Hurricane Maria. My son and his wife were expecting their first baby, a girl. I was not able to come back home to be present at her birth. The Sunday before she was born was Mother’s Day. The baby was born the Wednesday after Mother’s Day. They made me aware of the fact that they have sent a present over the mail for Mother’s Day. The delivery of the package was delayed, and I actually received it on the same day she was born. It was a card, a puppy plush toy and a painting saying “I Love You, Nana”, and The card said “I Love My Nana”. The craziest thing is that, I got my son’s FaceTime call so I could see Ivy, as I was opening the present. Needless to say that I was overjoyed with love and emotion. #Blessed. By the way, I was able to travel 2 weeks later to meet her. ♥️ Merry Christmas!!! 🎄

The best gift I ever got was more of an experience, my friend took me out to dinner for my birthday at a fancy restaurant that I told her I wanted to try. The check was in the hundreds range and she payed for the both of us, which was super generous. Side note, I'm actually ordering the the jade matchaful matcha and bamboo whisk for my boyfriend because of a video you posted a long time ago! So funny to see it come up again in this video, since you're the one who convinced me to order it.

Five interlocking programs prisms made from dictionary paper with each prism using words starting with one of the letters of my name! The gift giver had me close my eyes and hold my hands out then put the dictionary in them and said “wait I forgot something” I close my eyes again and when I opened them the origami was on top!
